<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a power output device having a prime mover and a motor. <P>SOLUTION: The power output device for outputting the power from a drive shaft comprises a prime move having an output shaft, a power adjusting device which is coupled with the output shaft and the drive shaft, and increases/decreases the power output from the prime mover by controlling the supply of the power and transmits the controlled power to the drive shaft, a motor having a rotor shaft, a changing mechanism having first to third rotary shafts to change the coupling destination of the third rotary shaft to the first rotary shaft and the second rotary shaft, a first power transmission mechanism for transmitting the power between the first rotary shaft and the output shaft, a second power transmission mechanism for transmitting the power between the second rotary shaft and the drive shaft, and a third power transmission mechanism for transmitting the power between the third rotary shaft and the rotor shaft.
