The device (50) has a processing unit (41) connected with an on-board electronics (43) and an infrared-image recording device (39) i.e. static camera. A display unit (45) is attached to the processing unit, and the infrared-image recording device is arranged at a nose of a water vehicle (3) for detecting forward objects provided on water surface. The processing unit is arranged to type the forward objects and emit an image signal to the display unit. An image recorder is provided, and the display unit is provided with information of the forward objects.
