A stick for an old person and a signal system thereof are provided to enable the old person to cross a road safely at a crosswalk by installing a device to a traffic light around a hospital, in which a plurality of dementia old persons are lived, and operating the signal light in connection with the device when the old person takes the crosswalk. A stick(10) for an old person includes a power supply unit supplying DC power, and an active RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) device(102) transmitting an RF signal and storing a unique ID code by receiving the DC power from the power supply unit. An RFID reader(120) receives the RF signal from the active RFID device. A controller(122) turns on/off a walk or stop signal of a traffic light(12) by referring to the unique ID code included in the RF signal received from the RFID reader. The stick for the old person includes a walk detector, which includes a contact part lifted up/down at a lower part when the ground is touched, and a switch opened or closed by lifting of the contact part, and connected with the active RFID device.
