<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a falling prevention mechanism of a double hung window which can prevent sudden falling of a movable window regardless of a loss of tension of a wire, and to improve safety of the double hung window. <P>SOLUTION: The falling prevention mechanism 100 of the double hung window is provided with at least one movable window 15 vertically movable along a groove 33 of a vertical window frame 27. The falling prevention mechanism 100 of the double hung window is provided with a swing supporting shaft, a swing plate, an energizing means, an inclined surface, and a hook. The swing supporting shaft is fixed to the vertical window frame 27 in the direction where its axis intersects the vertical moving direction of the movable window 15 at right angles. Then the midsection of the swing plate is fixed to the swing supporting shaft turnably, and either the upper end or the lower end of the swing plate can be selectively projected on the vertical moving orbit of the movable window 15 by swinging. The energizing means energizes the swing plate to turn so that the upper end of the swing plate is arranged on the vertical moving orbit. The inclined surface formed at the upper end rotates the swing plate against the energizing means by the descending movable window 15 being brought into contact with the inclined surface. Then the hook formed at the lower end is engaged with the movable window 15 and prevents the descent of the movable window 15 when the lower end is positioned on the vertical moving orbit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
