PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an iron removal system which is optimized according to the iron concentration in feed water supplied to an iron removal device while ensuring predetermined quality of treated water. SOLUTION: In the iron removal system 1 where the iron removal device 3 equipped with a filter column filled with a filter medium for removing iron contained in the feed water is installed in a feed water line 2, and a feed water pump 4 is installed in the feed water line 2 on the upstream side of the iron removal device 3, the linear velocity of water passing through a packed bed of the filter medium is set according to the iron concentration in the feed water supplied to the iron removal device 3, namely, the higher the iron concentration is, the higher the above linear velocity is set.
