A bumper rubber of a shock absorber is provided to prevent operating noise from being generated when the bumper rubber is deformed or returned to its original shape by forming a concave-convex portion at a top surface of the bumper rubber. A bumper rubber of a shock absorber comprises a cylinder, a piston and a piston rod reciprocating in the cylinder to generate a damping force, and a bumper rubber(10) installed at the piston rod to prevent the cylinder from colliding with a fixing component, which connects the piston rod with a vehicle body. The bumper rubber includes a concave-convex portion(13) formed at a top surface of the bumper rubber, which makes contact with the fixing component, so that an air flow path is formed between the concave-convex portion and the fixing component. The concave-convex portion is formed with a through hole(11) into which the piston rod is inserted.
