<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a backlight unit which is capable of improving uniformity of brightness among light sources, even if connections of a plurality of light sources, including parallel connection is made. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to connection relations between LEDs 16A and 16B connected in parallel and constant-current circuits 202A and 202B, a switching control part 205 controls a switching part 200 so that LEDs 16A and 16B to be connected to constant current circuits 202A and 202B are switched, in a prescribed order at time intervals T<SB>1</SB>and T<SB>2</SB>of time division, while maintaining such a connection relation that two constant current circuits 202A and 202B are not simultaneously connected to one of LEDs 16A and 16B and one of constant current circuits 202A and 20B is not simultaneously connected to LEDs 16A and 16B. Thus currents flowing to LEDs 16A and 16B can be equalized by equalizing time intervals T1 and T2, when the LEDs 16A and 16B are of the same luminance characteristics, even if the current values of the currents outputted from the constant-current circuits 202A and 202B differ from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
