<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive that can achieve high control speed. <P>SOLUTION: In a configuration including NMOS transistors MN2 and MN3 for driving a motor section 100 and a waveform forming section 101 for controlling the MN2 and MN3, a brake control section 107 performing short brake control when the motor is decelerated to a target rotational speed is provided. When the rotational speed detected at the motor section 100 does not fall within a predetermined range based on the target rotational speed and a deceleration signal is inputted, the brake control section 107 outputs a brake signal. The waveform forming section 101 receives the brake signal and turns a plurality of transistors (including the MN2) being connected to the power supply voltage Vdd side off entirely, and turns a plurality of transistors (including the MN3) being connected to the ground voltage Vss side on entirely.
