A pole changing type synchronous motor is provided to wind an exciting coil around an exciting pole through modularization of the exciting pole, thereby improving productivity. A pole changing type synchronous motor(100) includes a stator(110), a rotor(120), a magnet layer(130), and an exciting module(140). In the stator, motor coils(112) are wound around a plurality of teeth(111). The rotor is installed to rotate from the stator and includes a plurality of conductors(122). The magnet layer is fixed at an outer circumferential surface of the rotor to have the teeth and pores and is made of magnetic material which is magnetized again. The exciting module includes a pole insulator(141) and an exciting pole(142) and performs magnetization to arrange poles on the magnet layer alternately through a current supplied to an exciting coil(143) wound around an outer circumferential surface of the pole insulator. The pole insulator is made of insulating material between the teeth of the stator and includes a mounting space(141a) which is opened toward the magnet layer. The exciting pole is mounted in the mounting space of the pole insulator to face the magnet layer.
