PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of efficiently supporting the setting of options and driving and transmitting a power at low cost in a sheet conveying device for transmitting the power from a drive source to rollers. SOLUTION: A printer part 2 comprises a feed tray 20, a conveying path 23 for guiding recording paper 9, an LF motor 107 rotated in both normal and reverse directions, conveying rollers 78, a feed roller 25, a first driving and transmitting mechanism 170 for transmitting the output from the LF motor 107 to the feed roller 25 in the form of a drive force in the direction reverse to the rotating direction of the conveying rollers 78, a drive selector mechanism capable of changing at least a first selection for transmitting the output from the LF motor 107 to the first driving and transmitting mechanism 170 and a second selection for transmitting no output to the first driving and transmitting mechanism 170, and a control part 100 for controlling the rotation of the LF motor 107 and the selection of the drive selector mechanism.
