PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance practicality of a suspension system provided with an electromagnetic shock absorber for generating resistance force and propulsion force relative to relative movement of a sprung part and an unsprung part. SOLUTION: The force of the absorber includes the force for attenuating vibration of the sprung part and the force for attenuating vibration of the unsprung part, the forces can be separately controlled, and control gains Cs, Cg set corresponding to the respective forces are changed in the determination of the respective forces. Thereby, the control state of the absorber can be changed among the plurality of specific control states S<SB>1</SB>, S<SB>2</SB>, S<SB>3</SB>in which the control gains Cs, Cg are set to specific values. Accordingly, the circumstance that the vehicle is placed at present is determined from various aspects, and the control state capable of generating the absorber force capable of suitably responding to the circumstance that the vehicle is placed at present can be easily realized.
