The invention relates to a sintered product made from a starting charge containing 5 to 50% zircon and having the following chemical composition, in percentages by weight on the basis of the oxides and for a total of more than 100%: silica and zirconia, the concentration of zirconia (ZrO<SUB>2</SUB>) being equal to at least 64%; at least 0.2% of a dopant selected from among V<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>5</SUB>, Nb<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>5</SUB>, Ta<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>5 </SUB>and mixtures thereof; optionally a stabiliser selected from among Y<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>, MgO, CaO, CeO<SUB>2 </SUB>and mixtures thereof, at a concentration less than or equal to 6%; and "other oxides" at a concentration less than or equal to 6.7%. |
