PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rectifier element capable of reducing an inverse leak current, improving a withstand voltage, and reducing an ON voltage. SOLUTION: The rectifier element includes: an anode electrode 5 and a cathode electrode 6 formed in contact with a semiconductor layer 2; and a gate electrode 7 formed on the semiconductor layer via an insulation film 8.
