<p>A rubber moulding compsn. is cast under pressure, the compsn. contains polysiloxane rubber and a mineral filler. The mixture is vulcanised in the mould by ionising radiation at 15-40 degrees C. Pref. radiation source is a Co60 gamma emitter, and dose is 5-50 Mrad. Filler is SiO2 finely dispersed and, stabiliser is phenyl methyl dimethoxysilane or tetramethyl ethylene dioxymethyl silane. H is used e.g. for prodn. of spherical valves for replacement in the heart.</p> |
