RIGID CHUCK FOR BLOCKING RADIATION AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FIBER PREFORM HAVING THE SAME

A rigid chuck for blocking radiation and an apparatus for manufacturing optical fiber preform having the same are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by omitting a conventional heat discharging paint removing process. A rigid chuck(120) for blocking radiation is installed on a pair of supporting units of an optical fiber preform manufacturing device to manufacture a preform tube to an optical fiber preform with a MOCVD(Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition) method. A main body(121) has an inner diameter larger than an outer diameter of a dummy tube(142). A heat discharging tube(123) absorbs and discharges radiation heat through the dummy tube while encompassing the dummy tube. A clamp(122) is formed on the main body and fixes the dummy tube partially received in the main body by the heat discharging tube.
