INCOMING CALL PROCESSING METHOD IN PORTABLE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL AND SYSTEM

A method for processing an incoming call in a mobile terminal and a method for processing an incoming call in a mobile communication system are provided to accept incoming calls selectively and cope with absent calls speedily by enabling a user to confirm a caller's call purpose through an icon. A calling mobile terminal carries out a call origination process to send a destination number and an icon index according to the caller's key input(S111). A BTS(Base Transceiver System) transmits the phone number of the calling mobile terminal and the icon index to a called mobile terminal according to the calling mobile terminal's call origination(S113). The called mobile terminal analyzes the incoming call transmitted from the BTS and extracts the caller number and the icon index(S115). Then the called mobile terminal displays the extracted caller number together with an icon appointed to the extracted icon index(S117).
