PURPOSE: An input unit controlling method and a mobile terminal therefor are provided to change a character or an icon displayed on an input unit according to rotation, thereby enabling a user to easily use the character or the icon. CONSTITUTION: If the rotation of a mobile phone is detected, a rotation angle is checked according to rotation(520). A mode to be performed at the checked rotation angle and a key map set in the mode are checked. The checked key map is mapped on an input unit(540). Mode is regarded as one among 'the message transmission mode, and the DMB mode and MP3 playback mode'. The key map corresponds to one of a character key map, a control icon key map and a mode icon key map. |
