An integrated costing system

A method of building cost estimation and presentation is disclosed. The method includes: linking a design module to a number of building contractor modules, where each building contractor module is associated with a building contractor and is operable to provide particularized building cost data for that building contractor to the design module; configuring the design module to receive particularized building cost data from the building contractor modules; producing a building plan for a building with the design module; generating a cost estimate for constructing at least part of the building using particularized building cost data of one of the building contractor modules; generating a cost comparison indication between the cost estimate and a baseline estimate for constructing the at least part of the building; and presenting the cost comparison indication on the building plan showing the at least part of the building.
