PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for improving the visibility of a digital image processing device are provided to differently apply a contrast according to brightness of an image, thereby improving the visibility of a display. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus and a method for improving the visibility of a digital image processing device include a display unit(23), a user input unit(31), a photographing unit(33), an image processing unit(35), a storage unit(37), and a digital signal processing unit(39). The display unit displays an image. The user input unit includes a shutter-release button, a broad angle-zoom button, a remote-zoom button, and a button with a touch sensor or a contact point type switch. The photographing unit includes a shutter, a lens unit, an iris, a CCD and an ADC. The image processing unit signal-processes digitally converted RAW data to be displayable. The storage unit stores a JPEG file generated in the image processing unit. The digital signal processing unit sets an exposure adjustment value and displays an image to which different contrast is applied according to an exposure value.
