<p>Organosilicon copolymers are prepd. by reacting a cpd. of formula: (C6H5)SiX3 (where X is a halogen atom) with a hydroxylated polysiloxane of formula: ((CH3)2SiO)x((CH3)(C6H5)SiO)y((CH3)SiO1.5)z (where x + y + z has ave. value of 6-50 and y and z each have value of up to 10% by x + y + z). The reaction product is cohydrolysed with a halosilane of formula: (where q has ave. value of 1-1.1 and w has average value of up to 0.1). The copolymers cure to organosilicon resins which have ordered configurations, are tough and have excellent shock resistance.</p> |
