PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display using the same are provided to prevent the assembling error between a light guide plate and a light emitting diode which is caused by an air layer between them. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit(150) comprises plural light sources, a light guide plate(130) and an auxiliary light guide body(135). The light guide plate supplies the light from the light sources to a liquid crystal panel(164) by comprising plural grooves(125). The auxiliary light guide body is formed so as to surround the light sources and is inserted into the grooves. |
