<p>Unsatd. alcohols prodn. for epoxides. Cpds. of the gen. formula (I): (where R1, R3 are the same or different and are H or hydrocarbon; R2 is hydrocarbon substd. with free esterified or etherified OH gp. or oxo gp. or R2 and R3 taken together with adjacent C atoms to form a polycyclic ring system) are prepd. by treating an epoxide of gen. formula (II) with an Al cpd. (III): (where R1, R2, R3 are as above; R4 is H, alkyl, alkenyl; R5 and R6 are the same or different and are alkyl, alkenyl), and hydrolysing the product.</p> |
