The device has a roll stand (12) for thickness reduction of a metal strip (14) or a metal foil. A winding device (18) is provided which has a winding reel (22) and a contact roller (20). The metal foil sheet is guided over an enlacement of the contact roller of the winding reel. The contact roller and the winding reel are provided with a vibration damper (24).
