The device (11) has tooth systems (17, 18) e.g. gear rod and gear wheel, assigned to a separating element (13) e.g. movable piston, and a drive element (12) or an output element (14), respectively. The drive element is connected with a camshaft of an internal combustion engine and pivotably arranged at the drive element. Cavities (15, 21) are separated into two pressure chambers (22-25) acting against each other by the separating element. Adjusting units (26, 27) i.e. disks, change distance between the separating, drive and output elements, which support the system, during mounting the device.
