The device has a mating roll (2) including a lateral surface. A sealing roll (1) presses against the mating roll with sealing force such that a molded sheet (3) and a cover sheet (4) are sealed together to form a sealed composite sheet structure, where the molded sheet includes blister pockets (9). The cover sheet is guided between the sealing roll and the mating roll. A lateral surface of the mating roll comprises recesses (7) to accept the blister pockets of the molded sheet. A rippled structure includes elevations and contact areas of different sizes.
