The device (1) has a chamber system filled with an operating fluid and comprising a damping chamber (25) and a compensation chamber (55) i.e. annular chamber. An elongate section of a side wall (21) of the damping chamber is formed by an axially deformable metallic bellows (24), which is statically sealed with respect to closure walls (22, 23). Force application bodies (2, 3) are kinematically connected with the closure walls by a lever transmission unit (32). The elongate section of the side wall extends in an axis direction of a main axis (8).
