The invention relates to a process for producing an image by imagewise exposure of a photographic light-sensitive material having a base material to which at least one silver halide emulsion layer has been applied which is sensitive to visible light, the emulsion layer or another hydrophilic colloid layer containing at least one of the compounds of the general formula <IMAGE> in which the substituents are as defined in Claim 1, and by treating the light-sensitive material with a developer containing a developer of the dihydroxybenzene type, if appropriate an auxiliary developer, free sulphite ions and 5- or 6-nitroindazole.
