METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROL OF DATA RECORDING LOCATION

PURPOSE: Data record position control method and apparatus are provided to minimize the interference by enabling a focus error signal to maintain an operation for a linear section while retrieving a linear section for the focus error signal in other direction. CONSTITUTION: Data record position control method comprises the following steps. Reference and signal lights are irradiated to a recording medium(S1310). Based on the information on the generated reflection signal light, a focus error signal is generated(S1320). Based on the focus error signal, a second focus is moved to where a first focus locates(S1330). The focus error signal represents the distance difference between the first focus and the second focus, wherein the first focus is for the reference light and the second focus is for the signal light. The data record position control method controls a data record position on a hologram record medium using the interference of the reference and signal lights.
