MOLD FOR PRODUCING A SILICA CRUCIBLE

PURPOSE: A mold for manufacturing a silica crucible is provided to reduce a part which is removed through a cutting process by forming a mold shape to correspond to the upper side of a crucible. CONSTITUTION: Silica or quartz powder(4) is attached on the inner wall of a rotary mold(1). A heat-melting process is performed in order to manufacture a silica crucible. A barrier material(7) is a ring shape. The inner diameter of the barrier material is smaller than the mold and is larger than the silica crucible. The barrier material is installed on the inner peripheral wall of the upper opening of the mold. The upper opening of the mold corresponds to the upper region of the silica crucible.
