RHEUM UNDULATUM EXTRACTS ANTIFUNGAL AGENT FOR PLANT DISEASE

PURPOSE: A Rheum undulatum extracts having an activity of suppressing plant disease is provided to suppress growth of fungi which causes blue mold disease. CONSTITUTION: An agent for preventing plant disease contains Rheum undulatum extracts as an active ingredient. A method for producing the Rheum undulatum extracts comprises: a step of extracting Rheum undulatum with acetone or acetone aqueous solution to obtain crude extract; a step of filtering and concentrating crude extract; a step of separating the concentrate with mixture solvent of butanol and toluene; and a step of isolating only supernatant and washing with ethanol or ethanol aqueous solution. The plant disease is Rhizoctonia solani, Botrytis cinerea, or Diaporthe citri.
