Method and device for touchless movement of electrically conductive elements

The method involves detecting beginning of cutting impact of a cutting machine (10) i.e. high-speed runner cutting machine. A linear motor is energized after beginning of the cutting impact so that a restoring force is applied on a cutting tool (30), where the force works against an oscillation of the cutting tool. The oscillation is produced by the cutting impact of the cutting machine. A cutting tool position is detected along a travel path of the cutting tool. Prestressing force is released immediately after beginning of cutting impact of the cutting machine. An independent claim is also included for a cutting impact damping device for a cutting machine.
