PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide terminal equipment which limits the function of the present equipment depending a present state and prevents fraudulent use. SOLUTION: A specified position range including, for instance, the position of home as the specified position is registered in a specified position table. In the case that the operation mode of "processing without function limitation" wherein a function limitation flag LF is "0" is set, when the terminal equipment decides that a control unit is at the specified position, the present time is not a specified date, and the terminal equipment is placed at the specified position continuously for the prescribed time (second position limitation time) or longer without position movement, the function limitation flag LF is set to "1" to shift to the operation mode of "processing with function limitation", and functions are limited so as to make operations other than an authentication operation inoperative. That is, as the result of deciding that a cellular phone is in the state of being left alone in home and limiting the functions, the functions of the present equipment are limited depending on the present state and the fraudulent use is prevented.
