PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically switch a communication line in accordance with a specific condition and to continue a connection on a previous communication line if a connection on a selected communication line can not be performed. SOLUTION: A user presets a communication mode switching time and a communication mode desired to switch thereto (S1). When a control unit 10 recognizes that the set time has come, a wireless portion of a communication system in a communication mode, that is not operating at present, is operated to search whether a current point is in a state where communications can be performed in the communication mode desired to switch thereto or not (S2). After the search, it is determined whether communications can be performed in the designated communication mode or not (S3). If it is judged that communications can be performed (S3:YES), switching to the designated communication mode is performed (S4), and a communication mode under operating previously is turned OFF. If a communication network in the communication mode desired to switch thereto is not present (S3:NO), without changing the communication mode, the previous communication mode is continuously operated (S5).
