<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an excellent image even with the occurrence of deviation of a developer on a developer supply member of a developing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The developing apparatus supplies a two-component developer containing toner and a magnetic carrier, to a developer carrier by the developer supply member, and conveys the two-component developer carried by the developer carrier, to a part that faces a photoreceptor formed with a latent image, to develop the latent image. The developing apparatus includes a non-contact displacement sensor 57 detecting the surface height of the two-component developer on the developer supply member, and a developer surface height adjusting mechanism for adjusting the surface height of the developer by pressing an elastic member 59 formed at a part of a casing 58 around the developer supply member, by a cam 60 to change a distance to the developer supply member. Based on the detection result of the non-contact displacement sensor 57, the cam 60 presses to keep level the surface of the developer on the developer supply member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
