<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the necessity of repeating adjustment of a viewing option in a revisited web site. <P>SOLUTION: A web browser is configured to store format preferences associated with favorite and historical URLs so that upon receiving a request for such a URL, a web page is fetched and displayed with the associated stored format preferences.
