PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission belt on which rings and elements are easily and accurately installed, and also to provide its installing method. SOLUTION: On the transmission belt V, a number of elements 1 are annularly arranged which have recessed portions 8 for storing the rings 9 and come-off preventing portions 10, 11 for preventing the removal of the rings 9 engaged with the recessed portions 8, and the rings 9 are installed which are fitted to the inner periphery sides of the come-off preventing portions 10, 11. The come-off preventing portions 10, 11 of at least one element 1 have predetermined rigidity at both ends to prevent the removal of the rings 9, and predetermined elasticity or plasticity to be deformed when engaged with the recessed portions 8.
