PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having a satisfactory display grade. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal display panel DP having pixels arranged in a matrix; a light guide plate LG which is composed of a plurality of blocks; an illumination unit BL which is disposed so as to overlap the liquid crystal display panel, and illuminates the liquid crystal display panel; and an output section CNT which outputs a video signal to each pixel, and outputs a video signal corrected according to a gradation with respect to the pixel opposing the boundary between the blocks.
