PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent detachment of a circlip from a clutch housing. SOLUTION: The friction clutch includes: a clutch spring 83 applying a force in a direction of causing a friction plate 64 and a clutch plate 65 to contact a pressure plate 77; a retainer 84 formed into a substantially circular shape, and receiving a reaction force of the clutch spring 83 by supporting one end of the clutch spring 83 opposite to the pressure plate 77; and the circlip 85 having a substantially circular shape, having a slit extending in a radial direction and formed in one portion of a circumferential part of the circlip 85, fitted into an inner peripheral side of the clutch housing 46, and locking the retainer 84 to the clutch housing 46 by abutting on an opposite side of the retainer 84 to the clutch spring 83.
