PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type ultrasonic flowmeter and a flow measuring method utilizing a correlation method capable of highly accurate measurement over a memory capacity of an AD converter, even when flow velocity of fluid to be measured is high or the bore of a pipe wherein the fluid to be measured flows is large. SOLUTION: In the reflection type ultrasonic flowmeter and the flow measuring method utilizing the correlation method, a signal selection means for allowing input into the AD converter only during a designated time zone is provided on a preceding stage of the AD converter for converting an ultrasonic echo signal into a digital signal and storing the result, and a partial flow velocity distribution in the pipe is measured in a plurality of times, and the flow velocity distribution in the whole pipe is synthesized from a plurality of flow velocity distributions acquired by measurement.
