PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil unit for a three-phase linear motor, along with a three-phase linear motor of which coil density (coil space factor) at a thrust force effective part is raised to improve driving efficiency. SOLUTION: The coil unit 7 for the three-phase linear motor includes three coils 4 to 6. The coil 4 includes a pair of straight portions 4a and 4b provided side by side in Y-axis direction perpendicular to Z-axis direction, with the Z-axis direction set as a length direction respectively, and a pair of connection portions 4c and 4d for connecting both ends of the pair of straight portions 4a and 4b together. The coil 5 includes straight portions 5a and 5b and connecting portions 5c and 5d as well. The coil 6 includes straight portions 6a and 6b and connecting portions 6c and 6d as well. The straight portions 4a, 5a, and 6a among the pair of straight portions are adjacently arranged in this order in the Y-axis direction.
