摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting blade detection mechanism wherein light emitting and receiving sections need not to be constantly positioned in place against the cutting blade. SOLUTION: The cutting blade detection mechanism 60 comprises: a light emitting means 64 disposed on one side of a cutting blade 28 in the axial direction and facing the blade; and a light receiving means 78 disposed on the other side of the cutting blade 28 and paralleling to the light emitting section. The light emitting means 64 has a light emitting element 66, a light dispersion element 68 for dispersing and averaging the output light, and a first optical fiber beam 70; the light receiving means 78 has a light receiving element 80 and a second optical fiber bundle 82; the light emitting section 74 is composed of a serial light emitting body disposed serially to cover the whole blade of the cutting blade 28; and the light receiving section 86 is composed of a serial light receiving body disposed to cover the whole blade of the cutting blade 28 so that multiple optical fibers diverging from the second optical fiber bundle face one another.
