<p>Wasteful consumption of recharged power in recharging is suppressed and recharging efficiency is improved. In a recharging device (1), a battery pack (24) wherein a plurality of secondary batteries (22) are connected in series is supplied with a recharging current (Ic). The recharging device has an overcharge protection circuit (26), which has a discharge route circuit (34) arranged for each secondary battery (22) and connects the secondary battery (22) to the discharge route circuit (34) to make the secondary battery discharge electricity, based on a battery voltage (Vb) of the secondary battery (22), while the battery is being recharged, or disconnects the secondary battery (22) from the discharge route circuit (34) to stop discharging electricity. The recharging device also has a recharger controller (10) which controls the recharging current (Ic) to be reduced until electrical discharge to the discharge route circuit (34) from the secondary battery (22) which has started electrical discharge stops, in the case where any one of the secondary batteries (22) started discharging electricity to the discharge route circuit (34) by the overcharge protection circuit (26).</p> |
