PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the construction cost of a tunnel for a gravity railroad. SOLUTION: A tunnel structure is designed so that the size of the tunnel may be formed to be considerably small at an upper part where the speed of a train is low, to gradually become larger, and to become largest on the horizontal line at the lowermost part where a maximum speed is obtained, taking the speed of the train passing the positions into consideration, instead of making the size of the tunnel even from the beginning to the end like an ordinary tunnel.
