PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic compound for electroluminescent devices suitable to wet film-forming method with easy lamination, a crosslinked polymeric compound obtained by crosslinking the above organic compound, a composition for electroluminescent devices containing the above organic compound, particularly a positive-hole-transportable organic compound and a composition each excellent in electrochemical stability, and an organic electroluminescent device high in emission efficiency and high in drive stability.

SOLUTION: The organic compound is provided, which has a crosslinkable group and is characterized by having in the molecule a divalent pyrene ring optionally bearing substituent(s).
