LENS COMPONENT FOR OPTICAL COMMUNICATION

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve as much as possible optical coupling efficiency between an optical fiber and an optical element having at least one of a light emitting function and a light receiving function.

SOLUTION: A lens component for optical communication has a condensing lens 3 for optically coupling the optical fiber 6 to the optical element 4 having at least one of the light emitting function and light receiving function. The condensing lens 3 is formed of gallium phosphide with an impurity concentration of 1.0×1016/cm3or less, and has an internal transmittance of 90% or more and a refractive index of 2.1-4.5 to all lights in a wavelength band of 1,260-1,675 nm.
