<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for waterproofing leathers which does not prevent the body transpiration and avoids using semi-permeable internal linings. <P>SOLUTION: The process comprises pressing on the internal surface of the leather 1 at least one semi-permeable membrane 2, and disposing a glue pattern on the membrane contacting the leather 1 to waterproof the leather 1. The glue pattern of the semi-permeable membrane 2 is preferably a thermoadhesive, and therefore the pressing of the membrane on the leather 1 is preferably hot pressing.
