PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller which endures use over a long period of time without being influenced by severity of a use environment by having uniform plating applied on a shaft body obtaining uniform surface roughness and size accuracy. SOLUTION: The developing roller provided with a plated surface film on a shaft body and a silicone rubber layer on the plated surface film and the shaft body is composed of low-carbon free cutting steel with a ferrite-pearlite composition. The low-carbon free cutting steel contains sulphide particulates. The rate of sulphide particulates with a major axis of 10μm or more in all sulphide particulates is 90% or more and the rate of content of Pb is 0.03 mass% or less. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
