PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone apparatus which exhibits improved user convenience upon emergency disaster information reception, and to provide a control method thereof. SOLUTION: The mobile phone apparatus includes at least: an antenna 10, radio section 20 and baseband section 30 (or a DTV antenna 80 and a DTV receiving section 70) for receiving emergency disaster information: and a control processing section 40 which causes a display section 50 to display the emergency disaster information, specifies a disaster based on the emergency disaster information, and on the basis of processing conditions preset in accordance with the disaster, causes the display section 50 to display a picture for notifying a predetermined connection destination about predetermined information or for setting the processing conditions corresponding to the disaster and notifies a connection destination set on the picture about information set on the picture.
