PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform control of writing and reading to and from an FIFO memory in filter operation of image data containing an edge. SOLUTION: An SRAM control circuit 145 saves block images in a predetermined range successively read from image data stored in an image memory 130 to an SRAM 150. The SRAM 150 has at least two areas for storing the block images. A filter arithmetic circuit 155 successively reads a predetermined number of continuous pixel groups that is an object of filter operation from both or either one of the two areas of the SRAM 150 to perform filter processing. The SRAM control circuit 150 copies, when the read block image contains pixels at the edge of the image data, the pixels at the edge contained in the read block image and writes them to either one of the areas of the SRAM 150.
