PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a cost of a semiconductor switching device which includes a bidirectional switching function, and to reduce the size thereof. SOLUTION: The semiconductor switching device 10 having a bidirectional switching function comprises a first and a second main electrode 13, 14 on a main semiconductor region 12; a first and a second gate electrode 15, 16; and a first and a second electrode 17, 18 for forming diodes. The first electrode 17 for forming diode is connected to the first main electrode 13, and the second electrode 18 for forming diode is connected to the second main electrode 14.
